Project 6

In Agust 2023, XAVAN - in collaboration with NHAU Studio art education centre, organized the titular event to display and demonstrate the taxidermy process as an arts & science activity. "Fantastic Fauna" aimed to improve public's understanding of nature & wild life through live drawing, research and observation of rarely seen animal specimens.
It also acted as a platform for young taxidermists in Hanoi to showcase their artworks and promote their businesses. Although they may have different starting point, all taxidermists possessed a passion for biological research and a love of animals, and have achieved a high level of craftsmanship and expertise in their respective fields.
Each taxidermist had a unique specimen processing technique, such as white bone, stuffing, plastination, wet specimens, and diaphonization. The audience was introduced to these techniques through the talk show "Taxidermy applications in Everyday life", hosted by Xavan co-founder Le Ngoc-Ha Thu. There was also a workshop for making jewelry from bone and gemstones, such as necklaces, bracelets, keychains, etc.

"EXPLORING THE WORLD OF INSECTS" is an exciting and magical journey brought by XAVAN in collaboration with Sakura Montessori Preschool in March 2024. During the exploration activity, the children were immersed in the small and mysterious world of insects such as butterflies, bees, ladybugs, cockroaches.
Under the guidance of the XAVAN's taxidermist and entomologist, the children were introduced to the habitat and behavior (hunting, reproduction and development life cycle) of each species. This is he first time, the preschool children have a chance to closely observe such beautiful natural species.
Everyone watched curiously and marveled when they first observed and touched the actual insect specimens. In addition, the children also have the opportunity to show their ingenuity through creative activities such as drawing and paper model making.
