Cultural Experience: Hanoi City Map

Through our experiments and observations over a year, we recognized the demand for participating in cultural and creative activities is not only present among tourists, but also among the local Vietnamese. Therefore, XAVAN Inc.’s team has been actively proposing and discussing with our partner - Fabulous Mekong Eco-tours (FME) to develop Hanoi City Map (HNCM).

What is HNCM?

Hanoi City Map (HNCM) is a platform dedicated to curating and developing educational cultural experiences rooted in the city of Hanoi. Our focus lies in interactivity and multi-sensory exploration, aiming to document and share a living cultural map—starting right here in the capital of Vietnam. The team is a collective of cultural practitioners, designers, and travel professionals, united by a shared belief: cultural stories are best told by those who live and breathe them every day.

Who developed HNCM?

• XAVAN Inc. – A research and development consultancy specializing in culture and creative industries.

• Fabulous Mekong Eco Tours (FME) – With over 6 years of experience, FME Travel designs immersive eco-tourism programs across the Mekong Delta and beyond.

• Locaventure – tours, experience programs for general audiences, and who are new to local culture.

• Eduventure – tours, experiential programs for students, and people who want to learn more about culture.

  
  

We chose Hanoi as the starting point, with the hope that HNCM can grow into a representative model to be adapted and replicated across Vietnam.

This project would not exist without the contributions of the community—artisans, storytellers, tour guides, students, and travelers—who have participated, shared, and inspired. They are living proof that heritage doesn’t belong behind glass in a museum. It’s alive—and it deserves to be lived.

Culture is not a thing of the past. It is alive—in the hands of artisans, the steps of storytellers, and the eyes of travelers who know how to listen.

This effort represents the high commitment of XAVAN Inc. and FME to developing local culture through nurturing knowledge of domestic and foreign participants of Vietnamese culture.
